Teacher Dara – (Head of Secondary ) KS 3 & 4 Science

Head of Secondary

Teacher Dara, Head of Secondary

From Ireland, Dara graduated as a teacher in 2008, with a PGCE in Secondary Science. Previous to this he was granted a BSc. in Environmental Science from the National University of Ireland and an MSc. in Conservation Biology from Manchester Metropolitan University. He has extensive management experience in Education from his time in the United Kingdom.

” Praise the young and they will prosper”. This Irish quotation inspired me to become a Teacher nearly ten years ago. The world around us is changing so quickly and I love having the opportunity to prepare our students to be competent and confident individuals. I firmly believe, both praise and excellent teaching allows children to accept the many challenges that both the school and society throws at them.

As Head of Secondary I am lucky to be able to tailor the curriculum, to bring out the best in all students academically, socially and morally. Through excellent teaching and up to date knowledge our students learn to question, research, debate, and express themselves in written and oral form. They are inspired daily by the varied topics and subjects we provide as a school.

I am very proud to be part of the community that is SCL , and am very passionate about its ethos. I look forward to spending more time with your loved ones this year, and am privileged to offer them such a wide and varied education.
